I'm running GL 1.3.8-1sr2 and would like to install a photo gallery. Can anyone suggest a easy to install gallery which integrates with my version of GL easily?

Please provide me with a list of which packages are needed to accomplish.

Any feedfack appreciated!

You did check the FAQ first, didn't you?

People check that thing? Wink Mr. Green

Should make a static page story on the front page that says "CHECK HERE FIRST ---> FAQ " " or add a link to the bar @ the top of the page...

Actually, I did. Thanks for help. I know what is available (via the FAQ), but I noticed that many people (after seaching the forum archives...yes...some of us actually try to self-help even though you don't give me the benefit of the doubt) had problems integrating depending on which version of GL vs. photoalbum they were using. Also there were issues with things like the RandomPhotoBlock.

So, I'm asking people's opinions on what works best with the version of GL I'm running.

I thought that's what these forums were for....asking questions and having discussions...

In that case, I would recommend Gallery 1.4-pl2 integration.
Check here:

Also, for a random block:

You can take a looksee at mine if you like, okanagangirlz.com/gallery/.

Just did the install, and everything is okay. I can upload photos. They seem to generate thumbnails. Problem is, the photos aren't showing. Only the placeholder with the red 'X'. Everthing seems to be operating normally.

Any ideas why the photos and thumbnails won't show, even though they are uploaded and in the album?

Thanks,

Christian

Sounds like a problem with paths or URLs. Do a "view source" on the page and have a look at the HTML source to see where it's trying to load the photo from.

I've checked all paths...and they look good. I did a view source, and it's looking in the right place for the right file. Could something in the ./gallery/.htaccess not be right?

The package that I installed was a "geeklog ready" type of installation. I shouldn't have to install any type of integration package should I? All functions work fine, and I can place permissions on albums, upload pics, it makes thumbnails. Everything works perfect except actually seeing the pics.

Question: Should I be able to go directly to the picture like:

http://my.website.org/gallery/album01/picture.jpg

and have it display? If so...it's not displaying the image.

Is there anything else I should try? I've also played with permissions. No joy.

It was a path problem. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
