Customization: removing Hits/Views

What's the "best" way to remove Hits and Views from the Search results? (I don't want to display the headings or the data, at least, in the regular Anon and Member views, and don't mind if I can't see 'em at all...)

You may want to try and modify the theme template that looks to be for this item - search/resultauthdatehits.thtml

You will see this file under each theme.

Modifying that file - removing {data3} - doesn't affect the search results! The only thing in the layout templates that does is search/searchblock.thtml, and taking out {results} disappears the entire result, not just the hits.
