Articles' widths should be like comments'
Pro Normal Width

Hi!
In my blog, as well as in this site, I have to scroll right too see the right part of the page (for example, when selecting a form, without scrolling, I can't see the "!" part of the "GO!".
Is there a way to force it pages to cover 100% of the screen and not one pixel more?
I tried toying with the numerous table widths, but couldn't noticed a single change.
All this leads me to another question: the exceeded scrolling also affects internal parts of the site - like articles.
When I post articles, I have to use endless <br>s in HTML mode and endless [Enter]s in regular text and I don't even want to imagine how my blog will look like in different resolutions than the one I work in (800x600)...
Do you have a solution?
Thanks
P.S. (Important!!!)
I keep noticing how the comments and for that matter, this forum too, DO know how to limit a line into normal proportions. It's ironic as it is the articles which are the heart of Geeklog. It's like seeing a bicycle rider passing your car on the high way!
If only I could post my articles as comments...

Sorry, I take it back. The forums have the same problem. Turns out it just looked good on the preview.
But comments do look good, as even in HTML mode I don't have to use
s at all, because it cuts the line after a normal amount of width (unlike the forum or articles where it lets the lines stretch all the way to infinity).

(you can delete the "other" second post, as it was in plain text where I wanted HTML)

Well, even so, the comments work fine, so can't something similar be done regarding the articles?
But anyway, just like you, I use XSilver.
So is it truly fixed-width?
If so, do you have a recommendation on another theme that isn't like that?
Thanks

Around line 68 of header.thtml, I changed the table width to "100%" from whatever the pixel size was.
Well, I've just tried it and it didn't work (although I have refreshed the page and clicked to see its source code to make sure it's really there).
But like I've mentioned before, it's not the first I've tried it (I've also toyed with other table widths inside XSilver) and I've never noticed any change whatsover, not even the slightest one.
So what gives?

Well, the problem is that there are many places where the tables are probably given specific widths. It could be in style.css, header, footer, or any of the .thtml files. If I were you, I would just check out some of the other themes to see which ones work at the resolutions you want to support.

Hello,
In my theme developement I've noticed two things which can get your stories to expand in size "usually beyond 800 x 600".
1. Story title. If it's too long in Xsilver it will not wrap. You have to turn off nowrap on the story titles to get them to appear in a wrapped state.
2. Story hyperlinks and text which doesn't break. If you put a string in your stories body which doesn't take a breath "no space" this will contribute to your overall story width.
Number one reason why to keep your hyperlinks small and keep them smaller by applying the a tag.
Other than those two culprits, you can try setting the overall table in header.thtml at a size of 99% to see if that floats your boat.
Good luck!

99%?
Hell, I've tried 90% and 80% and still saw no change...
