When moving GL from one server to another, do you have to "upgrade" or "run an install" or can you simply move the site from one server to another and change the site info?

If you copy the entire directories, move over the database, and change the paths, everything should magically work.

The only thing you have to watch out for are images uploaded with stories. Those will all become broken links. It's a known bug, but until it is fixed, you'll have to fix the broken links yourself.

Since the stories, user data, etc. are all in the database, you will need to export your database on the old server and import it on the new one. You will also want to copy over some files, like user photos, images from articles, or downloads (if you use the file management plugin).

Then set your paths to the new locations and you're done.
