I've usually installed geeklog with access to a directory ouside of the public html directory. Now I have to install it where I only have access to the public html directory.
How would I protect the config.php so that the sensitive stuff (database/password) can't be seen by others? I think I remember reading somewhere that you can "include" another page with the actual password inside the config.php page...
I don't really know PHP but I can follow directions.
Anyone?

Assuming the webserver is Apache, the best thing to do in this case is to put anything that's outside of Geeklog's public_html directory into a directory of its own below your site's public_html and then password-protect that directory.
Google for .htaccess and htpasswd ...
bye, Dirk
