Where do I change background color that shows between the blocks in the XSilver theme. I changed the header background. Now I just need to change the rest.

Check both style.css and header.thtml. It's in one of those, and it will be good for you to search for it.

I found it now. It's about 3 lines from the end of the header.thtml page.

wondering if you can help me please, im just changing some colours im my theme, for some reason i can find how to change the header colour ive looked in both the style.css and the header.thtml. just can find it , any ideas

What part of the header are you trying to change? What theme is it? I don't really feel like telling you how to change every part of every header in every theme.

i think ive sussed it, think its the header image 'header-bg.gif' im using 3AM eternal. am i right in thinking this? or is there a colour i need to change?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with that theme and I don't really understand what you are trying to say. Everything header related should be in either header.thtml or style.css, though.
