Hi all,
I'm finally upgrading from 1.3.7r1 to 1.3.8r3. I'm also ditching IMHosted (avoid them like the plague, btw) and going to a new host. I have the Forum and Menu plugins installed.
So, what's my best plan of attack? Should I:
a) Do a fresh install at the new host and then run some sql update scripts
or b) Install 1.3.7r1 on the new host, and do an official upgrade from there?
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks,
Scott

For an upgrade, you will have to replace all the files anyway.
So I would do a backup of the database on the old site, upload the 1.3.8-1sr3 files on the new host, import the database backup and run the install script (in upgrade mode).
bye, Dirk

Thanks Dirk, that's the way I'll do it.
I see that my gl_user_stats table is about 67MB. Is there any reason why it would be horrible to not bring that over? Can I get away with just creating the structure of that one?
Thanks!
Scott

I just emptyed that table before I moved. In my case my (old) host-server denied the sql backup, because the gl_stats where so big.
You should maintain your user stats using the sql files in the archive to delete the months you don't need anymore. btw: I think this is a real disadvantage of the user stats plugin, the lack of a webinterface

Just wanted to post again that I killed over 210,000 rows of data that had collected in that stats table since May of 2003! I guess I missed the part of the instructions on that Plugin that tells you to clean the stats out once in awhile. MAJOR speed increase!
Thanks again!
Scott
