Hello,

Is it possible *based* on a users entrance to a site, file their membership under a certain group?

e.g. If a user joins the site http://mysite.com?writers, automatically file that user to the writers group?

Of course any link that user clicks on from that page, will remove the "?writers" suffix, so is it possible to stay tracking a user incase they join up on another page?

If this is not possible at the moment but sounds good where is it that I go to put in the request? I would like this ability to be in the core code and not a plugin.

If this isn't already available can someone be kind to point me to the official feature request page? I had it but lost it. I'll be glad to hear any feedback on this.

Thanks!

Hmm, is project.geeklog.net really that hard to find? It is listed in the documentation after all ...

Probably not exactly what you want, but this plugin shows how to extend the user profile so that users can assign themselves to certain groups.

Hello Dirk,

Thank you. I apologize, when I said "official" I meant the one place where a feature request would most likely be paid the most attention and put on a to-do list if it sounds good. You've currently got 3 methods for putting in a feature request Razz. I'll make a mark on them all and look into them.

Thank you again for pointing out the plugin, though I would like to stay away from it, I'll look into it.

Thank you Dirk

Hmm, do we? There's only one "official" place, and that's the Feature Request Tracker on project.geeklog.net.

However, it's usually a good idea to discuss an idea in the forums or on the mailing lists first to see how chances are and if something similar already exists.

bye, Dirk

Hello Dirk,

Thanks, I presumed the tracker would be the official link, just wanted the confirmation Smile

Thank you Dirk
