I'm trying to use {story_bodytext} in my storybody.thtml template so one can read the whole article instead of going to each specific article to read. The articles are very short, so I'd rather the body be displayed as well as the intro when going to a topic page.

But, when I put the tag in the template, it does not come up...am I doing something wrong?

That variable isn't set when that template page is used. You could hack it in there... but why not just leave the body text blank and instead only use the intro text when submitting new stories?

Well, I'd like to use the preview on my main pages. Could you tell me why that wouldn't work or what I should try?

I'm sorry. I don't follow what you want, here.

I'm sorry. I didn't explain myself correctly. I tweaked my index.php to show the latest article from each topic on the main page. On the main page, I am showing the title, intro text, date, etc. This is the story.thtml file.

I am using the Cameleon plugin to use a different template when going to different topic pages. When I go to a topic page, its also showing the story.thtml file but instead of showing the intro text + the read more link, I'd like to show the intro text + the body text (the entire postings).

Thanks.

Hmm, well if you don't want to do what I suggested earlier, there really isn't a hack-free way to do it. If you really want to, you can hack COM_article() in lib-common.php.

Look at the "index" parameter passed into the function and see how it determines which variables to set for which template files.
