Installed gl, everything was running fine this AM. When I tried to log in tonight I was denied.

Checked the config.php for white space. Found a line, removed it. Saved. Still couldn't log in. When I rechecked the config file, the white space was back. (Same thing happened with lib-common.php)

Edited them in notepad. Deleted originals. Uploaded new.
Same problem...

For some reason, when I remove the white space and save the file...it comes back.

Any suggestions?

Use another editor. This and this forum threads have a few suggestions.

The white space problem caused me fits when I first started using GL. Dirk was kind enough to point out that the white space problem was at the end of my config.php. The editor that comes with my host appends seems to append a CR to a file on opening. I have to remember to remove it before I save.

Check the end of your file to see if there is white space after the "?>".

Thanks to both of you!

For some reason it finally came together. I just kept editing out the white space and saving. Finally, the white space 'stayed gone'

I appreciate your help.
