Do I understand correctly that static pages will always be displayed in the 'center column' of the page? I see the 'Page Format' pulldown menu in the setup screen for static pages, and this would seem to indicate that a static page could be displayed on the left or right side of the page (where the left blocks and the right blocks are located), but in trying the different selections from this menu, I couldn't see any difference in a static page at all - I could only get them to display in the 'center column'. So, what is the 'Page Format' pulldown menu for?

What am I misunderstanding here?

Static pages can be displayed on their own (see the "Support" or "CVS" links here on the site for examples) or as a center block.

I guess I'm still a bit confused.

When you refer to the 'center block', you're referring to the center 'column', between the two 'side columns', is that correct?

When you say 'on their own', do you mean that they're displayed as a complete 'page', with nothing else (no other 'block' of text, etc.) in the 'center column' (center block)?

And when you say that they can be displayed in a 'center block', do you mean that they're displayed in a 'block', along with other 'blocks' (such as stories), in the 'center column' (center block)?

Sorry for the 'simple' questions....I'm a bit new to working with this type of software/systems.

He, but you are quite right in all your assumptions Wink

Static pages can appear as:

- block in the center coloumn (position: top, after featured article, bottom, whole page)
- - on one topics index page
- - on all topics index pages
- as 'stanalone page'
- - on an empty page (without any geeklog parts)
- - with no blocks
- - with left blocks
- - with left and right blocks

I hope that helps you being confused Smile
