say I wanted to create a box on one of the sides of the website with just general information.. no plug-in, just a box....

that and say that box had a link in it to a page on your website, how would you go about making that link so that when you click it, it creates a page in the center of your website... like if you were to click right now on "Geeklog Securiy" from the main page, it reloads with Geeklog Security box in middle of site.

i know im not explaining this great but can anyone help? maybe a FAQ out there or a TUTORIAL.

I think I understand what you are asking...

First, to create a block on either side of the page, you can just use the block editor in the admin menu. Essentially you can just use HTML here to create a link, and maybe some header text.

Second, If you just have a single big box you want to display in the center of the page, you can use a static page to display this content, so build a staticpage that contains your content and is set to show right and/or left blocks as you desire. Now, you can just have to link to the staticpage using a URL in your block you built in the first step.
