The current release of iPhotoToGallery is still very incomplete and bug-laden. Most people use it with no problems, but use at your own risk.

There are some differences when logging in gallery embedded vs. standalone, unfortunately the iPhoto plugin supports only the standalone mode.
You can try Galllery Remote, specifying the geeklog integration when you set up the connection: it just works.
