All mail works apart from Registration
Have trawled the forum and found a few who have posted this problem but no resolutions have been posted. When a new user registers on my site they do not receive the password email however the system does return a message at the top of the screen to say it has been sent successfully - nothing arrives. The strange thing is that requesting a forgotten password works perfectly fine as does the mail users facility. Am I missing something. (This is the 7th Geeklog I've configured for folk and the first I've had the problem with).

Could be the SPAM filters. Try registering from with email account that doesn't have any SPAM filters running (client or server). If you don't have access to such an email address, post the URL and we could give it a try.

Vinny,
You may well be on to something - it seems to work here from home but not at any of the three addresses I use at work. It does look like the mail may be getting filtered. It's amazing that the ONE email I really want get's blocked while I still get about 50 a day that I don't want Will follow this up with a definitive answer once I've done a bit more testing. Cheers!

Well - it does seem to be working for most addresses so I have to assume that the mail is being filtered somewhere. I've heard there's a hack somewhere to customise the registration email - if someone could point me in the right direction I'd be grateful. This might allow me to use text which doesn't upset the spam filter. Just a thought.

The text for the registration email is in the language file, /path/to/geeklog/language/english.php
Also, Geeklog 1.3.9 will let you sent emails via SMTP, which should further reduce the chances that they are considered to be spam.
bye, Dirk
