Bug causing multiple registration emails?

A friend of mine was a member of a Geeklog community. Recently, he received multiple (around 25) registration emails with a different randomly-generated password in each one. There was some anger towards him, so it's possible someone exploited a bug on purpose, but it could have been a random glitch. Is there a known bug causing this to happen with or without intervention?

They have not updated their GL release lately. That was a bug that was squashed several versions back. Sorry I can't remember which one fixed it. Somebody will let you know tho'. Big Grin

Turned out to be simplest of simple, someone clicked the lost password button a lot or set up a bot to do so. For some reason, the lost password email looks the same as the registration email. Thanks for your help.

This has been addressed in Geeklog 1.3.8. It doesn't reset your password any more but sends instructions on how to set a new password (and if you ignore the emails, your old password will remain valid). It also includes a speed limit, so you will have to wait several minutes before you can request that email again.

bye, Dirk
