FileMgmt plugin: Can't download files
Antonio
Anonymous
Hi,
although the files are in the appropriate file management directory
each time I try to download a file form the download area I receive an error message
sayin that the related file was not found!. Permissions are r-x for all users.
Anyone ever experienced such a behaviour?
Any ideas and/or solutions?
Thanks
Antonio

So just to confirm, you are able to upload the files fine and the files are moved successfully to the filemgmt repository directory.
Your problem is probally then the URL that you entered into the filemgmt config.

Hmmm...
I have installed filemgt, and everything works almost fine.
One prob though, when I try to DL a file, the file are named visit.php
Any suggestions to fix this? A bit messy to ask those who DL to rename each file
Any help would be nice

hmm you not by any chance using a masked url? I know when i started my Geeklog site this was the cause of many weird problems.
I wasn't even aware the filemangt plugin had a file called view.php!
Whats your url? I'll test it from my end to see if I get the same problems.

The script visit.php is the one called to actually launch the download of the file. It records the download and they sets the HTTP headers to the location of the file in the repository to launch the download.
It's possible your browser or webserver is messing this up. What is the site URL ?

The files on your site are quite large so it's hard to test but they appear to want to download but as you noted, default to the name visit.php which is the script name executing and not the name of the download file.
It looks like a problem with the headers that are being sent to the browser. I've installed this plugin on many different webservers (IIS, Apache, Zues) UNIX,Windows, OSX and browsers without a problem. I've seen this problem before while coding similar functions. I don't know if there is something else in your theme or site setup that is effecting the header output.
