Backups not working?

Mark

What should my path be???

Incorrect path or mysqldump utility not executable.
Check $_DB_mysqldump_path definition in config.php.
Variable currently defined as: /backups/

Still need some help here. I want to install some plug ins and one that I want to install says to do a backup but I can't (as described above). Is there some kind of permission I must set on a directory or something is that my problem? Or is there a certain directory that this must be executed from?

$_DB_mysqldump_path should hold the complete path to the mysqldump executable (including the file name).

Depends on the operationg system and where on the server it has been installed. Typically (on a Unix system), it's /usr/bin/mysqldump (which is also the default setting in Geeklog) or /usr/local/bin/mysqldump - but it could also be something else entirely.

If in doubt, contact your hosting service.

bye, Dirk

My host says the path is this:

/usr/bin/mysqldump

so that's what I use amd when trying to do a backup the error shows this:

Incorrect path or mysqldump utility not executable.
Check $_DB_mysqldump_path definition in config.php.
Variable currently defined as: /usr/bin/mysqldump

And on the top of the page there are these errors showing:

Warning: stat failed for /usr/bin/mysqldump (errno=2 - No such file or directory) in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs/admin/database.php on line 78

Warning: fopen("/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/rotozone.com/httpdocs/logs/error.log", "a") - Permission denied in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs/lib-common.php on line 1499

Translated into plain English: Despite what your hosting service told you, the file /usr/bin/mysqldump does not exist (or you don't have the permissions to access it).

For this one, I'd suggest going over the installation instructions again ...

bye, Dirk

I had this same problem trying to install the forum plugin.

I tracked down this thread and it was exactly as described in the last two posts.

Link to thread

Hope this helps.
