Just a bit of a how-to on geekbook 1.2
Geekbook 1.2 has an issue with something in the 1.3.9 GL version. It appears as a broken old school page.. no theme elements, no page tables, just one large text on a white background page. After over an hour of head scratching, I just tried renaming my old lib-common.php from my version 1.3.8 backup and linked the lib-common1.php file in my gbfunctions.php insted of the newly upgraded lib-common.php. A workaround for now, but it works until I can figure out exactly what is up. I am no coder, so if anyone has insight as to how to properly fix geekbook that would be cool.

what I did for mine was to delete/comment out all the occurrences of the line containing COM_siteHeader (I can't remember offhand but it's roughly $display = COM_siteHeader with a dot somewhere), and just replace it with
echo COM_siteHeader();
4 files has that line (index.php, admin's index.php, gkaddentry and geekbadd).
As I mentioned here, I'm no PHP expert and i'll be gratefuly if someone more knowledgeable thinks that's ok to do...
