I am setting up my site om my localhost for testing purposes. I am trying to install forum 2.3. But after going to the Plug-Ins page and hitting the install page and nothing happens. If I type the url, .../forum/index.php in the browser, I get the following:

An SQL error has occured. Please see error.log for details.

My error log says:

3/28/2004 12:14:56 AM - 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax near '' at line 1. SQL in question: SELECT * FROM

I tried to install another plugin and still get SQL errors. I think the database tables were not created. Where do I start looking?

It would appear you have not copied over all the files into the correct directories. If after copying over the files, you do not see the plugin listed in the plugin editor with a link to install then the files are not copied over correctly.

Review the install steps and ask if you are not certain where the files need to be located.

The plugin install step creates the plugin database tables.
