Custom Header
On my website, I have attempted to put in a custom header. I want to create a link to another php application that resides in another folder on the website. I am using Geeklog 1.3.9 and VideoDB. videodb resides in the folder aptly named videodb on my server. I have read the hints and suggestions on the custom headers and would greatly apprectiate any help you could provide me with.
Thanks in advance,
Steve

Have you looked at the theme's header.thtml file?
You can edit the HTML to meet your needs. There are variables that are between {} which are replaced at run time by the geekog code. There are several ways to do this - one is to add the HTML at the end of the {plg_menu_elements} variable. This variable is replaced with all the links to plugins.

{menu_elements}{plg_menu_elements}
Which parts do I need to modify to get it working? (I really am clueless).

OK -- well you need to know the HTML to add for a address. What would you add it you wanted to create a link to a website in this post for example - google
Try this:
plg_menu_elements} | <a href="http://www.google.com">google</a>

Ok, I got the link added. Now, two more questions and I promise I won't bother you anymore. How do I put the "spacer" char in--so I just need to copy and paste that char, right? and How do I make it the same bright yellow as the rest of the links?
Thanks in advance,
Steve

You probally want to use some online resources on HTML and play with the options. The space character is called a non-blocking space and you enter "& n b s p ;" without the quotes and spaces that I had to use so that it would not be interpreted.
For your site - add class="navbar" to the HTML <a> tag
<a class="navbar" href="http://www.google.com">google</a>

I have a program that would help you in finding the color your looking for by hovering your mouse over the current color and observing the #CODE, then using that in the php files or CSS file. You can download it from here and it called Pixie from Nattyware. Hopefully this helped in answering your question.
