Is there any way to set the default permissions for stories (GL 1.3.9)? I run a private web site and everytime I publish a story I need to remember to uncheck the Anonymous R right to keep anonymous users from seeing the story. I didn't notice anything in the config file for this.

I've checked my topics and they all have Anonymous R unchecked. Should that keep anonymous users from seeing stories in that topic regardless of the Anonymous R setting in the story itself?

If I'm reading the code correctly (story.php: 137)
Text Formatted Code
} elseif ($mode == 'edit') {
    [deleted]
    $A['perm_anon'] = 2;
    $access = 3;
} else {

it looks like the anonymous checkbox is hard coded to enable reading when creating a new story. Looks like this is turning into a feature request.

Yes, as long as the topic is non-readable by anonymous, then the non-logged in users won't be able to read it (it shouldn't even show up, but I'm not sure if it does or not).

My 'General' topic has the Anonymous R right unchecked. If I create a new story and leave the Anonymous R right checked and log out it shows up.

After a little more testing I found that if I have the story 'Show on Front Page' then it shows up when logged out. If I have the story 'Show Only in Topic' it doesn't show up when logged out. Is this a WAD or a Bug?

Thanks
