Hi,
I want to add a database that contains over 10.000 pages. Is there a way that I can turn these html pages into static pages and add them to GL?
Thanks in advance,
Jack

There's almost always "a way" Wink

I guess you don't want to copy'n'paste 10.000 pages, so you would need a script that does the conversion. Or maybe even leave them in the database and write a script that wraps them into Geeklog.

Thanks Dirk, I can do a search and replace for a whole directory using Dreamweaver. Can I use that to change the files. I don't know what format they are in or where they are stored.

Thanks,
Jack

First of all you should make up your mind whether you have the pages in a database (as you said in your first post) or as 10.000 files (as you said in your second post).

Geeklog's static pages are stored in a database, so Dreamweaver won't be of much help here. What you need is a script that reads these pages (wherever they are now) and stores them as static pages into your Geeklog database.

bye, Dirk

Does anyone have such a script? Or can someone create one? How much would it cost. The pages contain a heading and lists of names, addresses and phone numbers. some listings have additional lines like email and url. I can use the extra lines or I can do without them.
Thank's in advance,
