lib-common.php path error on new install of forum

I've done a search and attempted to read through the various previous forum postings on this issue; however,
I can't figure out what I need to have.
The error:
Warning: main(.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php/classes/timer.class.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/anchora/public_html/guiquelog/lib-common.php on line 113
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php/classes/timer.class.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/anchora/public_html/guiquelog/lib-common.php on line 113
I attempted to copy/paste: .:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php/home. . . .
into the line 113 $CONF line -- reuploaded the file and continue to get the same error.
My WH is an Apache Svr
my root has no name per se (at least in www.net2ftp) that's what it shows as "root"
In an FTP program, it just shows the "/" as the root -- no name; the actual path = /public_html/guiquelog
BTW -- when I first installed GeekLog via Fantastico, and when to the domain.com/admin -- I errored on "English.php" for "english.php" -- I change the file name to include a cap and successfully logged in; I've installed the forum and now am getting the $CONF error
I can't figure out what I need to have.

So that is the complete path to your lib-common.php. I don't know where you put the rest of Geeklog, but you should be able to figure out the path from there. So, if your config.php is one directory level above the lib-common.php, then the path is /home/anchora/public_html/guiquelog/. If it's two levels above, then it's /home/anchora/public_html/, etc.

That was the wrong way around, though. You should leave the file name in lower case and change the name of the language in config.php to lower case, too. Geeklog will do some beautifying on the language name anyway when it is presented to the user.
bye, Dirk

there is no file called "timer.class.php"
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/home/anchora/public_html/guiquelog/lib-common.php/classes/timer.class.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/anchora/public_html/guiquelog/lib-common.php on line 113
lib-common.php = a file (not a directory)
What are we trying to do? and what files are involved?
The coding is completely "bogus"
I can change line 113 in lib-common.php to whatever is required; however, the secondary file of "timer.class.php" has to exist

timer.class.php is in system/classes.
There's only one line that you should change in lib-common.php, and that's the one pointing to your config.php. All the other paths are set in config.php.
bye, Dirk

1) lib-common.php calls out a series of files in classes/*.php -- none of which exist (classes didn't until I created the empty folder)
2) "my" config.php is nothing like you're describing. The only coding that mine has is a series of arrays
Obviously, this didn't install correctly.

Sounds like you either have a corrupted tarball or (more likely) whatever program you've used to unpack it messed things up. Try downloading a fresh copy of the tarball and/or use another programm to unpack it.
