General Random Picture block

I have the gallery random block on my geeklog page and it works very well now. I am thinking though of removing Gallery from my system as I rarely use it and need to free up a database for testing some other stuff. Having said that is there any way I can just have a block that randomly picks images out of a general images folder on my site rather than through the Gallery database?

Photos for Gallery are stored in a folder call Albums. They are not stored in the database.

Thank you I will try to uninstall gallery without losin that folder then.. thanks Smile

If your purpose is to free up another database, there is no need to uninstall Gallery. Gallery 1.3.* does not use any database. G2 will use a database.
