Hi,

I've installed the plugin OK, but when I try and upload a file, I get the msg:

'failed to open stream: HTTP wrapper does not support writeable connections'

I have my "filemgmt_data" folders chmod to 777. All the paths in the file config section are correct, and I'm *fairly* sure all the other permissions are OK. I've searched on this site and squatty for any ideas on the HTTP wrapper msg but can't find anything.

My geeklog is running on my domain (running RH Linux). Using Geeklog 1.3.9, file mgt 1.2.

Any thoughts/hints?

Thx ..... Indi

The 'home' of the filemanagemt plugin is Blaines site Portal Parts-com here you could also find the lates 1.3 beta version.

A little google for your error msg. brought me to the idea that it could have to do something with the file permissions. Are you sure you set the permissiond for ALL needed directories to 777?

No i haven't. The doco says to use 754 so I have done that for most, the file locations and the config.php are 777.

I'll try it now (can't remember if I did try 777 to ALL as I played around with it a lot yesterday).

Back soon to report.....

Mmmm still no go.

Forgot to mention the error code (1106).

BTW, stupid question - where's the error.log file live? And is it accessible from the portal?

edit: forget the stupid question. found it :-)

Permisions of 777 maybe required in some hosted environents.

Your error.log file is under your geeklog/logs main directory

Error 1106 is that it can not create the new file. It's either a permission error or incorrect paths in your filemgmt settings. Review the error.log file message for more details.

Thanks for all replies.

My problem was the path settings in the config screen. As geeklog was installed on a subdomain, I needed to specify the FULL path and FULL URL.

i.e /home/domain/public_html/subdomain/files/
