Hi,
This is a really simple question, but I like to make sure before I start.
The Geeklog directories. I've uploaded them to the site ... all the ones under the "public_html" folder to a "GL" directory on my site.
But there are several directories outside of the public_html folder. My question is this: I've never had to set up anything to point to anything outside of my public_html folder and am unsure how to do so.
Usually I point like this: home/user/public_html/directory
So to point to these folders would it be home/user/ ?????
Thanks
Darla

There's a lengthy section in the installation instructions trying to explain about the files and directories that go inside and outside of the public_html directory (and, yes, they are needed).
This has also been discussed dozens of times in the forum, so please excuse me if I don't go into the details yet again ... Try some of these.
bye, Dirk

Hi Dirk,
Thanks ... I'll look through the other posts.
I think I got everything set up correctly but I'm getting a really weird error message:
Warning: main(home/b2phatn/public_html/gl/config.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/b2phatn/public_html/gl/lib-common.php on line 68
But ... the config.php file IS there.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

DUH!
You have no idea how many times I looked at that and missed it!
But still .. using that info ... I'm getting this error:
Template Error: set_root: /home/b2phatn/public_html/gl/public_html/layout/XSilver is not a directory.
Halted. ?
Thanks.

Hi Again,
Now I'm getting another weird error:
Warning: fopen(/home/b2phatn/public_html/gl/logs/error.log): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/b2phatn/public_html/gl/lib-common.php on line 1521
I get that message after clicking on "change password" for the admin.
Thanks for your help.

I guess you have already overcome this problem, since you have posted another question elsewhere about security.
You need to set permission to the log files to 775 or 777 as indicated in the installation docs.

Hi Sam,
Yep, I got it set up finally. Sometimes it takes me a minute or two
I appreciate your reply.
Take care!
