Hello again all,

I am sure there is something like a plugin or hack that I might need, but I have been running my Geeklog site now for approximately 7-8Months. However, when I google my name, Google does not see me, Is there something I can do to be accessible through this search engine?

Thanks

Google bot likes the site that is linked by other popular sites. I hope this gives you a tip.

Google also wants you to have a robots.txt file and submit your site for their robot to spider. Google sends hundreds of hits to my site every day.

I am in the top 10 for quite a few keywords, of course that changes occasionally.

My site url is

http://www.feyiola.com

When you said robots.txt, do I create the file and if so, where would it reside on my server?

What is googlebots and where do I get it?

Thanks a lot in advance

Google likes sites listed in www.dmoz.org, so submit you site there as well (in several categories when possible).
Dutch Geeklog sites about camping/hiking:
www.kampeerzaken.nl | www.campersite.nl | www.caravans.nl | www.caravans.net

Everything you need to know about robots.txt

There's also a robots.txt validator to make sure that your file has the correct syntax.

Googlebot is Google's crawler (or spider) robot that comes and indexes your site. It will look for the robots.txt file to see which files and directories it should or should not add to Google's index.

bye, Dirk

First thing you want to do is get some links from other sites, especially from sites with a high Google pagerank, that way the Googlebots will find you when they crawl the web.

Greets Nordinho,
