I'm converting an existing website to geeklog and the current site has mostly static info on the front page and links to the newest three or four stories in their left column. I'd like to duplicate this.

I looked in lib-common.php at the Older Stories function and the What's New function, but I'm just not versed enough in PHP to understand it all.

I'm trying to get a layout sorta like Older Stories, A list of the Titles of the last three or four stories, regardless of how old they are and regardless of whether they show on the front page (stories don't go on the front page very often, and if so, only one or two) and links to those stories.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

nevermind, I did it with some editing of the "Top Stories" block I got from squatty.com....

I posted about it in the How To forum over there in a topic entitled "I want stories only!"
