Geeklog2 lives (albiet quite shallow still) in CVS. Use the CVS directions to get it and use geeklog-2 as the module name. Help, as always, is needed.
The reason people blame things on previous generations is that there's only one other choice.

Well, the confusing part is I have been concentrating on the authentication and authorization features which will be a library (i.e. used by Geeklog but packaged for use by other PHP apps). So as to not maintain two CVS versions I have been working out of the Auth_Enterprise module in CVS which has a lot more files then the core geeklog-2 tree has. Also, we have been working on specs for the module API (search the mailing lists). So, in short, work is being done CVS doesnt' work and help is very much needed (with plenty of meat to keep any PHP programmer happy). Stay tuned.

I'm very interested in testing or at least taking a peek at GL2. Is it in a state yet where I could get it via cvs and play? I'm willing to dork around to get it installed; I'm just not sure which files are needed and how to get them.

If the answer is "just wait", that's cool.
Got root?

We're quite aways from having anything but the A&A module in working shape. I'm sure Tony would appreciate it if you spent some time mucking around with A&A. You can get it from cvs.geeklog.net in the "Auth_Enterprise" module (see the CVS link in the left blocks).

If you have questions or need help getting it set up you can sometimes find Tony (as IA-Outdoors) in #geeklog on irc.freenode.net.

it says module geeklog-2 not found..

cvs server: cannot find module `geeklog-2' - ignored
cvs [checkout aborted]: cannot expand modules

has something changed?

Try Geeklog-2 (upper-case 'G').
