I have read the documentation, searched the forums, read lots of related posts but still cannot solve my problem. I cannot get any static pages that I have created to show up on my index/homepage. I can see them if I use the link in the Static Page List but not otherwise.

I am using Geeklog 1.3.9sr1 and the version of Static Pages that comes with it (1.4). In the Static Page Editor, I have:
-Entered a title
-Entered a label
-Page format - left and right blocks
-Centerblock - checked
-Position - top of page
-Topic - homepage only
-In a block - checked
-Php disabled

I am logged in as Static Page Admin (which has Static Page edit and delete permissions but no PHP) and the access rights checked for the page are:
Owner - R E
Group - R E
Members - R
Anonymous - R

I know I am probably being a NOOB here so can someone please tell me what I missed.

Many thanks in advance and congratulations to the developers on a great piece of software

Jill

Hmm, from your description it sounds like you've set up everything correctly, so I'm not sure what the problem might be ...

Have you mad any changes to Geeklog's index.php?

bye, Dirk

This might seem overly simple but have you selected the Centerblock option in the static page editor? If so have you slected All or Homepage Only?

To activate PHP in Static Pages:

Activating PHP

Important: For security reasons, the use of PHP in static pages is disabled by default. To enable it, you will have to grant the 'staticpages.PHP' permission to the "Static Page Admin" group. To do this, log in as the Admin and from the Admin's Only block, select "Groups". Find the "Static Page Admin" group and edit it by clicking on the name of the group. At the bottom of the page, you will find a list of "Rights" (permissions) that can be granted to all members of this group. Note that 'staticpages.delete' and 'staticpages.edit' are checked, while 'staticpages.PHP' is not checked. To allow members of the Static Page Admin group to use PHP in static pages, you will have to check the 'staticpages.PHP' checkbox and save your changes.

In addition to the 'staticpages.PHP' permission discussed above, there is also a global flag, $_SP_CONF['allow_php'], that can be used to disable the use of PHP in static pages entirely. When set to 0, it will override the 'staticpages.PHP' permission and disable all use of PHP in static pages. The flag is located in the static pages' config.php file in the plugins/staticpages directory.

Dirk,

Ah yes exactly right! I think one of the other plug-ins that I installed required the index.php to overwritten (Menu? I think). Soooo, I restored the old index.php and the static pages now appear. Thank you! Your assistance is greatly appeciated!!!

Hmmm now just to have to go back and see if the menu still works properly.

Again, my compliments to all the developers and their hard work on this project. I have come from using Php-Nuke and have just converted to Geeklog. I like Geeklog MUCH MUCH better!!! Much easier to configure and use. Great work guys!

comicbookguy,

Thanks for your reply.

I think Dirk hit the nail on the head...but to answer your question...yes I did have the Centerblock option selected and the Homepage Only option selected

Thanks also for the tips on enabling Php. I'm not actually using Php in the static pages at present but I may well do so in the future.
