groggy
Hi Guys,

I installed SpamX and as many of you have stated, I also had to create the spamx.log file - no biggy.

For some strange reason I am getting this error when I click on "View/Import Other SpamX Blacklists" in the control panel/admin interface:

Warning: MagpieRSS: Failed to fetch http://www.pigstye.net/backend/spamx_users.rdf and cache is off in /home/virtual/site77/fst/home/heavenlysa/geeklog/plugins/spamx/magpierss/rss_fetch.inc on line 231

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/virtual/site77/fst/home/heavenlysa/geeklog/plugins/spamx/ViewBlacklist.Admin.class.php on line 69

I thought it was a permission problem, but that was not it. Any ideas on what is wrong and how to fix it?

Thanks guys!

I am not sure why you cannot read the rdf file on pigstye which is what the first warning states. Are you behind a firewall that prevents you from reading it. Can you set up other rss news feeds?

The second error is because of the first.

Hey Tom, yes, I can set up RSS news feeds, but I think you just gave me a hint on what is wrong. Let me see if this works..

Thanks!

Nope.

Didn't work.

It's so weird. Everthing else works. I went and looked at the file on the pigstye website and it even has my URL in it.

So, I don't know. I relly want it to work.

* SIGH *

See if you can access the rdf file directly or better yet set it up as a portal block. Works here I just tried it.

No problem setting it up as a portal block. Works like a charm.

Does this help at all in identifying why it doesn't work within the admin console?

Obviously I don't want to keep it as a block ;-)

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/virtual/site77/fst/home/heavenlysa/geeklog/plugins/spamx/ViewBlacklist.Admin.class.php on line 69

Am I getting anywhere?

Atleast I have a new error!

Thanks!

Just wondering if someone has come to find an answer to this problem yet?

I have no clue why it doesn't work for you.

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/virtual/site77/fst/home/heavenlysa/geeklog/plugins/spamx/ViewBlacklist.Admin.class.php on line 69

This is not a new error look above in your previous posts. In plain english, here is what should happen and what is not happening for you.

The program reads the rdf file from pigstye (yours doesn't). It converts this to an array (yours doesn't because it doesn't read the rdf file). It displays this array with a foreach statement (Yours doesn't because it doesn't have an array - thus the error message above).

The only suggestion I have is to make the magpierss directory writable by the webserver. Maybe magpierss is trying to cache, even though it is configured not to.

Ok, thanks, Tom. It must be something in the way my server is configured.

Thanks anyways! What would the steps be to manually update?
