Geeklog 1.3.9 0 installed but no access to admin blocks?

i've installed both 1.3.9 and 1.3.9sr1 but after keying in username: admin and password: password, i can't view the admin blocks. when i try to enter the admin, i get a single icon entitled "logout" for a few seconds and get bounced out to the main geeklog page. wotsup with this?
