Hi

I haven't been able to find an answer to my prob on the site as yet - there seems to be a difference of opinion on this site whether safe mode can be on??

I have two separate domains (not sub or addon) on the same shared hosting server - the extract from phpinfo is the same for the following segment on both sites

register_globals On
report_memleaks On
safe_mode On
safe_mode_exec_dir no value
safe_mode_gid Off

The hosting service was requested to turn off safe mode and indicated by email that this was done???

On one site, geeklog installed fine and works OK.

On the other site, the install completes except the message regarding the passwords is missing - I get the following message when trying to view the site. I have dropped the db and reinstalled with no effect.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: com_gettopicsql() in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/index.php on line 153

The error log gives this message
Wed Jun 30 21:07:29 2004 - 1146: Table 'xxxx.gl_blocks' doesn't exist. SQL in question: SELECT onleft,name FROM gl_blocks WHERE is_enabled = 1

any suggestions please?

thanks

Is this a fresh install or an upgrade?

COM_getTopicSQL was only introduced in Geeklog 1.3.9sr1. Make sure all the files you're using are from that version.

bye, Dirk

Thanks again Dirk - it was a new install but I had mixed up the lib-common and config from 1.39

BTW - From the extract of phpinfo in the post above - is safe mode on and if so will it cause any problems - I use a time zone hack I got from this site to get PG time and this hack uses

if ( !empty($_CONF['timezone'])
&& !ini_get("safe_mode")) {
putenv("TZ=".$_CONF['timezone']);
}
