I am trying to display a static page (actually, just a few lines of text) as centerblock on All pages. It is not appearing at all. I'm guessing that the appropriate squiggly brace directive is missing from my layout (i require "clean" for all users. Can someone tell me what the directive is and where it should appear?

my static pages are no longer displaying as centerblocks in the "clean" template ... i suspect I inadvertently deleted the appropriate squiggly brace directive ... can someone point me to the right directives/files?

Actually, this shouldn't be dependent on the theme or any "squiggly brace directives".

Are you saying that the center blocks work in other themes, but not in Clean?

bye, Dirk

whoops, I was wrong.

Centerblocks are not displaying under *any* theme. Possible causes?

* Last week I had to turn on the PHP urlopen flag so that my portal blocks would work. My ISP changed something about PHP. Are there any similar PHP issues with centerblocks?
* I made some directory permission changes last week -- could that be related?

Still stuck on this. What could make centerblocks disappear?

No idea, sorry. Centerblocks for static pages don't depend on any writable directories or special PHP settings.

How's your PHP? Could you stick some debug output in certain places (specifically index.php and the centerblock function in the static pages function.php) to see what's happening there and if they are even called?

bye, Dirk

While I figure out the code, here is what is working:

static pages exist and are available on nav menu
static pages come up when you go directly to the URL

it seems to be just the centerblock logic that is not working.

Solved the problem. I found an old forum message where a "plugin" had required changes to index.php causing similar problems. The plugin was one that I am no longer using so was able to restore the old index.php (which I had brilliantly saved as bak.index.php -- go me!) and everything's ok now. Thanks.
