Installation issue (no such file or directory)

Hi all

Ive followed the instructions to the letter (well i hope) and i get the error message above.

Ive taken a look around the forum and ive seen about changing the line to be absolute and not relative and then I got lost...

Can anyone help please

hi is your web root specifide in lib-common
and i asume you are running linux

That's your problem exactly - you have to use an absoulte path, but you've entered a relative one.

An absolute path starts at the root directory of the file system - indicated by it starting with a slash.

If you don't know the absolute path to your directory, call up the install script (without doing anything there) and have a look at the bottom of the first page. It will give you a hint there about what your (absolute) path is. From the error message, it should be something starting with /home/specialt

THanks guys. That took me further than normal I have to admit.

Next error I get is
"Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/specialt/public_html/geeklog/public_html/lib-common.php on line 4300"

Hmmm strange. Am I right in thinking that I cant show images via a link for stories?

What do you mean? img tags are filtered out (see the FAQ) by default, but as the Admin, you can upload images in stories.

Ive just added the img tags to the config.php as needed and now it works brilliantly...
