MySQL not running?

I saw this post:
Saturday, April 24 2004 @ 04:03 AM EDT

The error message (why didn't you simply quote it here?) is:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in [snip]/system/databases/mysql.class.php on line 108
Cannnot connect to DB server

So, either MySQL isn't running on your server or the $_DB_host name is not correct.

bye, Dirk

Is there anything else it could be? I see MYSQL listening:
unix 2 [ ACC ] STREAM LISTENING 129503 /tmp/mysql.sock
unix 2 [ ACC ] STREAM LISTENING 108696 /tmp/mysql.sock

Also, the _DB_NAME is 10.10.100.1 as it says I could use a name or IP. That is definitely the correct IP.

Please help

Thanks,
Paul

It could also be an unusual port number that MySQL is listening on.

Is this your own server or are you using a hosting service? In the latter case, ask them for help.

bye, Dirk
