Can't save stories

Anonymous
Hello! Ive just started my journey with GeekLoog. I encoutered some errors during install, and found solution on the forums. After the installation, i changed Theme, and Language. It works great. But i tried to add a story... I filed out all fields, and klicked 'SAVE'. It redirected me to the list of stories, but i found nothing in there... i tried many times, with the same result. Please, help me - i want to run my site ^_^

regards,
grandfso

Go to the "Submissions" page (from your Admin block), i.e. to admin/moderation.php. If register_globals is off, you'll get a friendly message on top of that page.

So are you getting the warning about register_globals or not?

If register_globals is off, you should see this text on the submission page:

You have register_globals = Off in your php.ini. However, Geeklog requires register_globals to be on. Before you continue, please set it to on and restart your web server.

The flag would be in your webserver's php.ini file (if you have access to that).

Hmm.

So when register_globals is on, the only other thing I could think of is a caching issue. I.e. something (your browser or some proxy) may be caching the pages and you're seeing an old version of the page. Try a forced reload of the page (holding down the Shift or Control key while clicking on the reload button).

And if that wasn't it, a URL would be helpful ...

You sent another message through the contact link. Hint: If you want an answer, provide a valid email address ...

Anyway, from the URL you provided I saw that 1) you're using a language other than English and 2) a custom theme. It's possible that either the language file or the theme is not up to date and is causing the problems. If things don't work, try using the English language file and / or one of the standard themes and see if that makes a difference.

bye, Dirk
