Translation
Hello Forum.
I´m totallly new to this blog thing.
I installed geeklog with success (had som problems with funny url addresses on my internet hotel, which I didn't know was pending).
I used the danish already made language package.
My question is now.
some of the bars on the main screen is still in english. And the strings in the danish language tables are really translated to danish but the still appear in english on the main screen.
Where do i have to correct this.
It is the bars: Topics, Events, Who's online, What's new
which are still in english. I use the Xsilver layout, if this has something to do with this.

I had a quick look through the Danish language file and it's obviously only partially translated. Someone started this translation once but didn't update it when new text strings were added in later versions of Geeklog.
You're welcome to send in an updated translation. We're also maintaining a geeklog-translations mailing list, dedicated to the localisation of Geeklog.
The block titles (Topics, Events, etc.) are another matter: They get their initial values from the SQL file when Geeklog is installed. You can easily change them from the Admin's block editor.
Yet another issue are the links at the top of the XSilver theme. These are images, so to translate those, you'd have to create new images. You may want to use another theme that uses the text strings from the language file instead.
bye, Dirk

Thanks for your quick reply
http://www.koch-engineering.com/geeklog/public_html/index.php
is where i did place the weblog to test it. Maybe I move it later.
I did some correction to the language file. I search the uploaded one, but nowhere is the text in english. So I has to be taken from the database. Can You tell me in which table the string has to be corrected ?

Which string are you referring to now?
As I said, the inital (English) block titles are taken from the SQL file (sql/mysql_tableanddata.php). That's a bit of a design flaw, but can be corrected easily once the site is up and running (as I see you already did).

Okay I now fully understand the problem. Yes this is a big design flaw, the initial strings should be taken from a place in the danish.php file.
My last two question for today:
How do I install/enable a forum on my site ?
How do I make my own Theme on an easy way. Do I have copy an existing and go anything through manually.
// Nice work You all did In making all these features !!!!!

It's a plugin. Get it from the author's site: portalparts.com
