Is there a (simple) way in geeklog to prevent new users to register themselves on a site?
So that new users can only be added by admin?

Go to the blocks admin section and disable the User Functions block.

Set this
$_CONF['usersubmission'] = 0;
to 1
And then you will either approve a new user or not.

Instead of disabling it, I'd suggest hiding it from anonymous users. Registered users can still log in via users.php

Actually, there have been lots of discussions about this before (use the search) and without code modifications, it's not possible to really prevent people from registering, if they know their way around on a Geeklog site. But you can make it less obvious, which should be sufficient for most applications anyway.

Again, do a search ...

bye, Dirk
