Hi all,
does anyone know how I can convince geeklog to open thumbnailed images (resized by ImageMagick) in a new window resp. popup on click? Currently, the image hyperlink opens in the same browser window, thus the actual geeklog web page "disappears".
Yes, a user could just push the browser's Back button, but from my own experience...well...*cough*.
So, where's the place to look for this tweak? Any hint would be appreciated.

Just out of curiosity is it e.g. Gallery you're talking about?
If so, it has nothing to do with Geeklog but Gallery itself and this is an external piece of code.
Can't think of any place in Geeklog where it resizes images except for user photos and images in articles but there there is no hyperlink.

No, I am not using Gallery for this. Geeklog automatically creates thumbnails if images exceed a user-defined threshold (e.g., greater than 400x300). Geeklog than links these thumbnails with the original, unscaled image if "keep_unscaled_image" is 1 in config.php.
But I finally found the piece of code. It's in admin/story.php. I managed to tweak the code in such a way that it will now use JavaScript and a custom PHP file to open the original, unscaled image in a new window and automatically resizes this window to fit to the image's dimension. The popup works with both IE and Mozilla/Netscape/Firefox and is at least compatible with the popup blocker of Firefox (i.e. it will not trigger it, but open the new window).
Phew...

I've actually scoured around the web and found a PHP/JS combo method that's working realy well for me:
