What do you mean by "unwrapped version"? The printer-friendly version?
Quote by samstone: Is there anything we can do to prevent that?
Other than disabling the printer-friendly version (in config.php) - no.
bye, Dirk

Google and other search engines that get their information by spidering sites often prefer the printer friendly version of the stories.
As Dirk says the only way of stopping this is by disabling the printer friendly stories via your config file.
At least the engines are finding you and sending traffic your way. If they are interested in looking at the rest of your site I do beleive there is a link for the visitor to follow.
FYI

Yap, it is the printer friendly version. There is a link at the bottom to my site, but none of those who visited such pages traced their way to the site.
So, does it stop the spidering if that feature is turned off?Because, I like the spidering. Just don't want them to pickup the printer friendly version.
Thanks for the information.

It will still spider your site, of course. Any attempts to get to the printer-friendly version should automatically be redirected to the normal version of the article, so old links would still work.
bye, Dirk

The reason the spiders like the printable version so much is because it is all content. No headers no menus all content. This is what the spiders look for.
Maybe if you changed the layout of the printable format to include a link to the main page or make the link to the story more prominant it would help direct users back to the main site?
Good luck
