where can i go to set-up meta tags for site description and content, that way google and a couple hundred of the other searches will list me any help would be greatful

header.thtml of the layout you're using would be a good place to start with.

Google does not use meta information in their indexing.

Go here http://www.google.ca/addurl.html to ask google to spider your site for content. The more content the more Google will increase your pagerank.
