so i figured out why its 0.. permission problem.. now i have a new problem..
it has all these default values for some reason.. the title is 'geeklog' and the description is 'another nifty geeklog site'
i've modified my config.php but it doesnt seem to affect it at all..i also modified the output file it used in the config.php and its still writing to geeklog.rdf..
i'm really puzzled.. i verified that lib-common.php was using the correct config.php and it is..
any ideas?

Have you posted any new articles since you corrected your config.php? I don't think the rdf file gets generated (rebuilt) until you post a new article.

As of Geeklog 1.3.9, the values in config.php are only used as default values. From your Admin block, select "Syndication" and change the actual values there.
bye, Dirk

Dirk, I've seen some posts in the forums about the admin block missing the syndication stuff and the different fixes, but I have not had much luck modifying mine, for instance, I want to be able to have some of the intro text put into my feed, but I can't seem to get my "Syndication" to change my settings. Otherwise my newsfeed works fine. Any pointers on what I can watch for/look for to resolve my problem? Unfortunately, I don't get any specific errors, but I do notice that I can not seem to get my syndication.php to deliver the variables for the language to the templates that control the feed, so the pages are missing the text.
Hope I don't sound like a complete moron. My php skills are lacking.

Sorry, I'm not following you ...
What isn't working? The form for the syndication feeds itself? Or is it not saving the changes you make?
bye, Dirk

The form its self is not reading the langue variables for the syndication system. Does this on my other isntalls too, so I am sure it is something I am missing and hoping the proverbial light bulb will appear. Basically the page lodas, but there are only ":" since the language variables do not print. I tried to "blindly" make changes to the syndication, but they dont' stick.

So which language file are using? Did you try switching to English?
You may be using a language file that hasn't been updated (although the language files that ship with 1.3.9 should be up to date, with the exception of the Hebrew language file).

I checked that, and it does call for the correct language file. I'm still working on the issue in my spare time and soon as I find what fixes it, maybe I will know what is wrong and can post my thoughts here for others. I'm not giving up just yet!

Well Dirk, you got me going in the right direction. My english.php was missing LANG33 so I copied that from the 1.3.9 (I'm on 1.3.9sr1...but the way I install stuff, could have messed that part up when I upgraded). But anway, copied the text over and everything is working like a champ now. Thanks for your help and insight, I appreciate it.
