If you are planning on supporting the talk forum phpBB and the Gallery PhotoPost I would be very interested in using this portal.

Who is question directed to? There are certainly no plans to add any support for phpBB or Gallery to Geeklog's core code - that wouldn't make sense. Geeklog has a plugin interface (and other hooks that external application could plug into) exactly for that purpose.

Besides, there are already existing solutions for phpBB and Gallery, so what exactly are you looking for?
