Getting strange backslashes during install

I apologize ahead of time if there is another thread about this...I didn't know quite how to word it for a search.

I am running into an issue I ran into with Mambo on this same server my hosting service uses. The web server they use, called Zeus, adds backslashes in front of alot of things (i.e. "/server/root/www/").

I'm not asking for you to solve the problem with my host, they can't even seem to solve it for themselves. Won't upgrade me to Apache even though I have another site with them that's on an Apache server...

Anyway, I was wondering if this has ever been encountered before and if there is some kind of workaround I'm not aware of. I'm a PHP n00b so it's touch and go whenever I try to change anything. Thanks for any help.

You have magic_quotes_runtime = on in your php.ini. See if you can switch that off (or ask your hosting service to do it for you).

bye, Dirk
