Hello,
I was victim like many others of this massive porn spam attack....
I decided to upgrade...
I went through a very dodgy upgrade cycle from 1.3.7 to 1.3.9...
I decided to make a fresh install
Fortunately, I have backed up my db but I can't import everything in the new created database...
I tried manually using phpMyAdmin and use SQL INSERT queries one after the other one the but some tables (e.g gl_userindex gl_userinfo gl_userprefs gl_users) did not appear to be in the same format...

Does anyone can help me to restore my old db on the new version?
Have about 500 articles and 70 users waiting for the fix

In advance, thanks
JC

What exactly are you trying to do?

You should not make a fresh install and then try to import tables and data from an earlier install - that won't work.

It's too late my dear Dirk...I already installed 1.3.9
How can I do for restoring a db coming from gl 1.3.7 into 1.3.9?
I saw that I can restore manually a majority by copy pasting content from the sql file in the query field of PhpMyAdmin but some fields are sometimes missing in these data...
Can I reinstall 1.3.7 and retry the upgrade??
I only have a .sql dump file of my db and the public.html backup...
Please help... I am blocked!!
Cheers

Keep the 1.3.9 install. Drop the database, then import your latest 1.3.7 backup and run the install script in upgrade mode on it (telling it that you're coming from 1.3.7 - there's a drop down menu for that).

That has always been the recommended way to upgrade.

bye, Dirk

ok...I dropped databases...I imported my sql.dump in the fresh install? The import file in PhpMyAdmin SQL is not working (I guess because of the comments in the file...)
Now I get another problem :

I am blocked with 1060: Duplicate column name 'is_default'

Here is the error log file :
Tue 28 Sep 2004 12:00:53 AM CEST - 1054: Unknown column 'sp_inblock' in 'field list'. SQL in question: SELECT sp_id,sp_content,sp_title,sp_format,sp_php,sp_inblock FROM gl_staticpage WHERE (sp_centerblock = 1) AND (sp_where = 0) AND ((sp_tid = 'none') OR (sp_tid = 'all')) AND (perm_anon >= 2) ORDER BY sp_id
Any help much appreciated!!

I started the installation again...now I get this:

1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' 'geeklog.rdf', 'iso-8859-1', '', 1, '0000-00-00 00:00:00', NUL

Any idea?

Thanks for your valuable advices..
