Same problem... Newer versions.

I am using GL1.3.9sr1 and Gallery 1.4.4. Requires no additional integration tool as they are now built in. However I am running into the same problem as a lot of other posts, Logged In Users cannot upload pictures, start albums, etc. Only the admin can. I cannot find any permissions setup for this, so can anyone help me???

I don't know if you can give users the premission to create new albums in your main album.

What you can do is creating a new album and then give youre users (or a group) premissions to add pictures, create sub-albums, etc. in this album.

Yes you can do this.

go to your gallery/classes/geeklog/User.php. Open it up and find this part in the file: loadByUserName($uname) (NOT in loadByUID($uid))

look for
Text Formatted Code
$this->canCreateAlbums = $this->canCreateAlbums();

and change to
Text Formatted Code
#   $this->canCreateAlbums = $this->canCreateAlbums();
   $this->canCreateAlbums = SEC_inGroup('Gallery Admin', $this->uid);

leave the # in.

where "Gallery Admin" is the name of the group, and then anyone in the group can create (and thereby own) a new album.
Hope that helps.

ps not my code, just found it somewhere

sweet. That was an easy fix. (as long as you know what to do.)

Obviously I had to create a group 'Gallery Admin', but that is actually good for giving out permissions in this website.

Thanks

@Paradigm
Thats a good solution! I never looked for that, because I have no need for it (at this time). It is probably best if you use Paradigm's way.

That user.php fix worked for me. Thank you so much. I had been very disappointed that my users couldn't create their own galleries. Now they can!
