Running on a site w/o DNS (IP only)

Hi,
I am running an intranet site which does not have a DNS.
The first ODD thing I discovered is that the Stats log every hit on the domain as a referrer.
Now the second odd thing is that I cannot edit stories that have a pictures since the [imagex] is left in the edit-field as a A HREF-Link to the picture, which points me to the fact that the site has a setting somewhere that is is located on a different domain than i set in the config.php.
This is not the case however. I am somehow lost to where the comparison to the actual and the saved URL fails. , and having checked it several times, it IS the exact same. Is there any special issue if I am running on the IP instead of a DNS?
thanks

I found the issue.
It was a language issue.
I will post this as a new bug.
