limiting the number topics a user can post to

Hi

I've set up several topics - some are for static pages only and others are for my work colleagues to post in.

I've also set up a couple of new user groups which I shall group my colleagues into. When they write stories I want them to be able to submit them only into the topics I specify (i.e. not in the topics that contain contain static pages)

Cheers

I've tried setting the topic permissions but this doesn't restrict which topics a limited user can post into.

Can anyone tell me if and how this can be done?

It's not possible. If someone can read a topic, they can post stories there.

bye, Dirk

There are some possibilities, see THIS thread.

thanks for the link, beewee.

Unfortunately that thread doesn't quite seem to fit the bill - that's describing each user having their own discrete page where they can blog. My needs are to get all my users (about 8 of them) to only be able to post a specific 3 out of 6 topics.

Never mind - I shall just have to teach them how to use the system properly - just a little nervous about giving my fairly internet illiterate colleagues the ability to post on any page! (cue chaos... )
