I'm currently with a hosting company for my geeklog site and my ISP has recently opened port 80 so I can host it myself. I was wondering if there is a way to transfer geeklog and the database to the new server. I would like to keep all my stories, forum, comments, etc. without losing them. If anybody knows any easy way to do this, please help me!!! My hosting service ends in 1 month!!! Thanks in advnace for any help anybody can offer!!! - Sand Man -

try the built in backup utility to backup the db, then download it and upload it to your new server. backup your directory contents retaining it's structure and load that onto your new server. check your paths to make sure all is well. viola.
